Basic Tips

• Make sure you carefully measure each ingredient each ingredient when baking goods

• Make sure you are using the right tools for measuring the ingredients. Use liquid measuring cups for wet ingredients and dry measuring cups for ingredients such as flour and sugar

• Do not substitute a low-fat spread or stick when a recipe calls for margarine or butter.

• If a recipe calls for softened butter or margarine and you did not have the time/ forgot to take a stick of butter out of the fridge, simply cut it into small pieces and place it to a bowl to warm to room temperature. On the other hand, if the recipe calls for chilled butter, not using refrigerated butter could cause the recipe to fail.

• The keys to success in baking goods are the following. Take the time to accurately measure the ingredients, follow preparation instructions, and use the proper baking pans.
